I suggest you ...

allow emails from outside users to create a story. Honey-Do's from the wife, requ from Boss, etc.

when your wife wants you to do something before you come home, allow her to email an address that creates a card in your board.

This is a great idea! Many stories start out as an email discussion and contain a lot of useful information that should make it into the card. Allowing to forward to an email address would be great.

Another option would be just to allow dragging of email to the board. If the subject became the title, and the body went to notes, and the cursor was set to edit title, that would make it easy to turn emails into tasks.

I second this - but I'd use this functionality internally to our business so that new project/initiatives/stories are generated from our service desk or direct from customers via emails. That would totally revolutionise our workflow.
